When: Thursdays in February and March

The events take place on three Thursdays in February and March, each focusing on a different career sector:

  1. Research and PhD: 7 February (19:00-21:00)
  2. Creative and Tech industry: 28 February (19:00-21:00)
  3. Nonprofit and NGO: 7 March (19:00-21:00)

Who is invited?

All international UvA students who are exploring the job market and considering their careers path are invited to join this session.

Which sector suits you best?

Whatever your field of study, it’s up to you to craft a career that incorporates your personal interests, motivation and skills.

Perhaps you‘re interested in doing a PhD, inspired by the energy in the tech start-up scene, determined to work in the nonprofit and NGO sector or curious what the creative sector holds for you.

Attending one or more Student-Alumni Career Talks will elucidate the differences between the sectors and help you find out what suits you best.

English as business language

If you do not speak Dutch, it may seem difficult to find a job in the Netherlands as most job vacancies require Dutch language skills.

However, the labour market in the Netherlands also has an international sector for which English is the business language and where an international background may be an advantage.

The Career Talks take place in the Music Hall in CREA (Nieuwe Achtergracht 170, 1018 WV Amsterdam) at the Roeterseiland Campus.
