How to present yourself authentically and competent on paper

  • A focused, well-presented CV will grab the reader's attention and make them want to find out more about you. It’s a chance to make a good professional (first) impression.
  • Composing a CV and motivation letter requires more than just filling in a template; it’s all about knowing what job you want to apply for and tailoring your application accordingly.
  • This information session focuses on understanding job descriptions and customising your CV to make sure you land the job interview you are going for.
  • This information session is for both international and Dutch students.

Please bring a recent resume to the information session.

    For personal feedback on your CV, you can always make an appointment with a Careers adviser of the UvA Student Careers Centre.

  • Results

    After this information session:

    • You are inspired and more confident to work on your CV
    • You will be able to present your CV in an effective lay-out
    • You will understand the importance of customising your CV
    • You will know what the key elements of a convincing CV are and how to make them personal and specific
    • You will know the peculiarities of a Dutch CV.
  • Practical information
    • Target group: Dutch and international UvA students and UvA graduates (who have graduated up to one year ago)
    • Participation: a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 participants
    • Language: English
    • Costs: none
    • Location: the sessions are at the Roeterseiland Campus (REC). You will receive the exact location by email, after your registration
    • Organised by the UvA Student Careers Centre (Student Services).
